A hyperbole in an extreme exaggeration!
Examples:
I am so hungry I could eat a horse!
I could sleep for a year, I’m so tired!
On a sheet of paper, come up with two of your own
hyperboles to share with the class tomorrow.
A simile compares two UNLIKE things using like or
as.
Examples:
She is as sweet as cotton candy.
He is as strong as an ox.
The snow was like a blanket.

A metaphor compares two UNLIKE things WITHOUT
using like or as!
Examples:
He has a heart of stone.
He is the shinning star of our school.
Time is money.
