sputters, utters a splutter,
spatters a smattering of drops,
gashes wider;
slash, splatters, scatters, spurts,
finally stops sputtering
and splash!
gushes rushes splashes
clear water dashes.
Onomatopoeia

are described.

action by copying the sound.
