The imperative verb is closely related in form to the imperfect.
To form an imperative verb, we take the imperfect form and
remove the prefix. The imperative verb is a command form.

Imperfect
Imperative
‫ ִּתכְ תׁב‬you will write
‫ ִּתכְ ְתבִִּי‬you will write
‫( כְ תׁב‬you) write!
‫ ִּתכְ ְתבּו‬you will write
‫ ִּתכְ תׁבְִנָה‬you will write
‫( כִּ ְתבּו‬you) write!
‫( כִּ ְתבִּ י‬you) write!
‫( כְ תׁבְ נָה‬you) write!
Sometimes an ‫ ָׁה‬is added to the end of a 2ms imperative. For
example, ‫ כָ ְתבָ ה‬is a 2ms imperative with the same meaning as
‫( כְ תֹ ב‬write!). This form of the 2ms imperative is easily confused
with a 3fs perfect. Use context to determine the correct
translation.
The negative imperative has two forms:
‫ לׁא‬before an imperative is a nonspecific, permanent command
such as “do not kill (ever)!”
‫ ַאל‬before an imperative is a specific, immediate command such
as “do not go!”
The particle ‫ נָא‬sometimes follows the imperative. The particle
‫ נָא‬translates as “please” or “I pray.” For example: ‫כְ תׁבִנָא‬
(write, please!).
Sometimes a maqqēp is used to connect the imperative verb
with the particle ‫נָא‬. For example: ‫( כְ תׁב־נָא‬write, please!).
Though the meaning does not change, the maqqēp removes
the stress from the imperative verb and transfers it to the
particle ‫נָא‬.
Type I verbs have a patakh for
the second vowel of the
stem in the imperfect form.
Type II verbs have a holem for
the second vowel of the
stem in the imperfect form.
Type I verbs have a segol for
the imperfect prefix vowel
and a khatef segol beneath
the I-guttural consonant
Type II verbs have a patakh for
the imperfect prefix vowel
and a khatef patakh
beneath the I-guttural
consonant, except in 1cs
where there is a khatef
segol under the I-guttural
consonant.

the rules explained previously for the imperative.
The prefix is dropped and the vowels of the 2fs and 2mp vary
slightly. For example:
