with the relative pronouns
WHO, WHICH, and THAT.

which = things
that = people or things

Relative clauses are connected
to the person or thing that
comes before them.

The verb in the relative clause
needs to agree in number with the
noun in the main clause.

Sometimes, if there is a prepositional phrase,
the relative clause connects with the person or
thing before the prepositional phrase.

I sent some money to my sister who lives in America.

In a subject relative clause,
we don’t use a personal subject
pronoun after which, who, or that.
I like people who they are friendly.
I like people who are friendly.
