School attendance is the students
responsibility.
 Students should only be absent if necessary.
 Illness, a Doctors or Dentist appointment that
cannot be made after School.
Religious Holidays ,with written parent request.
Parent Notification, preferably in writing , with
approval of principal or designee.



As a parent, the law requires you to ensure
that your child is in school every day while
school is in session.
Failure to ensure that your child attends
school is a criminal offense and subjects you
to a fine of up to thirty 30 days in the Pima
County Jail.






District action on unexcused absences on a single
period:
Third unexcused absence, the school will make a
phone call or contact parents.
Fifth unexcused absence, Referral to Truancy officer
will be generated
Tenth unexcused absence, Student is referred to
Project Manager and placed on a contact, Parent
meeting with administration is required.
15 unexcused absent in one or more classes, Student
will be withdrawn from class , student and parent
may be subject to a Truancy Citation.
Student may be transferred to STAR Academic Center.



A student who accumulates ten absences
during the semester is considered excessively
absent.
At the tenth absence, the student will be on
an attendance contract.
The contract requires a parent meeting and
signature.
