their word. What are some modern examples
of chivalry?
Vassals- Lesser Lords
Knight- Mounted Warrior
Serfs- Peasants who were bound
to the land. They couldn’t be
bought or sold
Fief- Estate given to a lesser
lord. This included the peasants,
buildings and towns
Feudal Contract- Lesser lords who
received land from more
powerful lords in exchange for
service and loyalty
Manor—Lord’s
Estate. Lord
granted land and
protection to
serfs, in exchange
for growing food
and providing
other services
