Objectives and Tasks
Context: Optical Communications using Chaotic Waveforms.
Linked to OCCULT & PICASSO Projects
General Objective: Study the dynamics of robust and compact devices which can
allow to increase the level of security and the use of new
encoding techniques.
Specific Tasks (already running / to be tackled)
•
Study of edge-emitting semiconductor lasers subject to several feedback loops or
subject to a state dependent feedback.
•
Study of semiconductor lasers with two or three integrated sections. Modulation in the
feedback-phase of one of the sections. Nonlinear feedback.
•
Chaos generation in electro-optical systems. Systems with several delays or with
variable delay.
•
Exploration of the chaotic regimes in semiconductor ring lasers. Synchronization and
message encoding/decoding.
•
Spatio-temporal chaos in broad area devices subject to optical feedback.
Synchronization. Codification techniques.
