Linking to files from your
myASU course site
Step 1
• Request an instructor account
http://www.asu.edu/it/fyi/iv/
Step 2
• Request that your instructor volume is
linked to a web address (URL)
http://asu.edu/jukebox/webpages/class.html
Step 3
• Upload your file and identify the direct
link to your file:
Uploading files can be done via FTP or by mounting the instructor volume.
See http://www.asu.edu/it/fyi/iv/ for details.
Once the file ahs been uploaded, you use the following method to
determine the direct link to the file - Example:
Instructor volume URL : http://asu.edu/courses/uni294
File name: ivdemo.ppt
Direct link to uploaded file:
http://asu.edu/courses/uni294/ivdemo.ppt

Adding a link to a web page:
You would use the following HTML code:
<A HREF=“http://asu.edu/courses/uni294/ivdemo.ppt“>Click to view ivdemo.ppt</A>
NOTE: the text in blue can be anything you wish, and will be the link visible
to the persons viewing your page.
Step 4 b
Adding a link to your myASU course site:
You would identify the place in which you wish the link to appear, add an
Item to that place, and paste this link:
http://asu.edu/courses/uni294/ivdemo.ppt
The link will be clickable to your students.
