Sistine Chapel Ceiling
Artist: Michelangelo: 1475-1564. He was a painter, sculptor, architect, and poet. He was most
famous for the way he depict human bodies in paintings and sculptors. He showed human bodies
as forceful and heroic. His greatest achievements include the dome of St. Peter’s, the paintings
on the ceiling of the Sistine chapel, and the statue of David.
Description of art: It was painted by Michelangelo between 1508 and 1512 during the High
Renaissance. The pictures depict various scenes from the Book Of Genesis. I chose this art
because it is a great artistic feat. The many figures in the painting probably took a long time to
paint. Not to mention it had to painted on top of a ceiling. Also, this work of art is very well
known and I think its important to include this.
