What is Stress?


Stress, as per the medical explanation of the
term, is the body’s general response to
environmental situations (Selye, 1979)
Stress is a neutral word; the term “distress” has
negative connotations indicating that the
individual is exposed to noxious stimuli, and the
term “eustress” has a positive meaning attached
to it indicating a sense of euphoria.
