Bilateral trade
Bilateral trade among Republic of Macedonia
and State of Qatar for year 2013 was no
more than 1,7 mil. USA$.
 Exports from RM to Qatar was 544 thousand
USA$, mainly for exporting marble,
alabaster, travertine…
 Imports from Qatar were 1,2 mil.USA$, in
2013 mainly for importing polyethylene.


CONSTRUCTION AND INFRASTRUCTURE

The share of the construction value added within the GDP
structure varies from 5.1 percent to 7.9 percent in the last
years.

In the construction industry are registered over 4,541
companies with around 45,000 employees.

The equipment, machinery and transport vehicles of the
construction companies are mostly from makes MAN,
Magirus, Raba, FAP, Kraz, Marini, Rubber, Komatsu,
Caterpillar and others, which perform all kinds of facilities
successfully and with high quality.

Construction companies are designing and building different kinds of
facilities from civil engineering (highways, bridges, civil and military
airports), from building construction (residential, industrial and public
facilities) and from hydro-projects building (dams, tunnels, irrigation
systems, water management systems, sewerage systems with clearing
up stations, etc.).

Construction companies are elaborating expertise and studies,
investment programmes, as well as organization of building of complete
facilities (engineering) and professional and technical supervising over
the construction of investment facilities in the country and abroad

Construction companies have gained high references in designing and
building of investment works in the countries of Middle East, Russia,
Ukraine, Albania, Bulgaria, Germany, Czech Republic, Serbia and
Montenegro and in other countries.

The building materials production is based over the rich
domestic resources of non-metal mineral raw materials such
as: marl, gypsum, brick clay, sand, architectonic –
decorative stones, (marble, travertine, granite, onyx, etc.)

In building materials production, as major capacities could
be divided: cement products, gypsum, gypsum-boards, raw
gypsum, raw mortars, clay products (solid bricks, all types of
hollow blocks, tiles, etc.), bitumen masses and emulsions
and bitumen stripes).

Nonmetal – mineral raw materials which the Republic of
Macedonia posses are raw material base for production of
non-metal products such as: feldspar, bentonite, talc,
opalescent (volcanic) tuff, quartz, quartzite, fire resistant
clays, etc., which are used as fillers or recipe raw materials
within the production in many other industrial branches.

AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTION AND FOOD
PROCESSING INDUSTRY

Agribusiness is one of the fastest growing sectors with more than
10% increase over the past three years

•More than 400.000 people make whole or part of their income
from agriculture activities

•Sector comprises 16% of national GDP, The primary agricultural
production and food processing industry participate with over 18
% of the gross domestic product.

•For the last three years (2010, 2011 and 2012) there has been
an increase of exports for 10,2 % in average.

• The total agricultural complex exports is at the average of 240
million US$, and represents about 16-20 % of the total exports of
the country. The biggest export items are the tobacco, wine,


There are 59 installed capacity in the state for processing
of 150.000 tons of vegetables, that gives a production of
about 35.000 tons of processed vegetables. Dominating
products are tomato puree, vegetable stew, ajvar,
ketchup, pickled cucumbers, pickled beet, hot peppers,
conserved mushrooms, conserved peas, dried vegetables
(papers, onions, leeks), frozen vegetables.


Tobacco production

Tobacco growing is on 16.000 – 22.000 ha of land,
and produce 30-35.000 tons of raw tobacco
annually.

The fermentation is undertaken in 8 companies. Of
the total of 35.000 tons of tobacco that is
produced, over 31 000 tons is exported.
MINING SECTOR
Government issues concessions for exploitation of
all mineral ore
 Up to 2014 year around 400 concessions have been
issued on different locations in Republic of
Macedonia .
 Most exploited ore in RM are marble , feldspad,
Zinc, Lead, gold , ore, coal (lignite) and
lime

