• Many of us have the perception that if something
appears in print, then it must be true.
• Any person with minimum computer skills can set
up a Website.
• There are no restrictions on what a person can place
on a site, and there are no requirements that the
material be edited or reviewed.

Reliability of Internet information can be
determined by:
Authority: who is responsible for content
Coverage: how the content is covered
Objectivity: if the content is biased
Accuracy: if the content is factual
Currency: how up-to-date the content is
