Personality Tree Identity Narrative - Expressive Writing
First, create a tree and label each part with the
following:
1. roots = life influences and beliefs
2. trunk = family structure (who makes up your
family)
3. branches = relationships and connections,
interests, how you spend your time
4. leaves = your achievements
5. buds = your ideas and hopes for the future
6. fruit = your passions
7. flowers = what makes you special, your strengths
8. thorns = challenges, threats and difficulties
Next,
Write a well-developed paragraph to explain your tree.
1. Explain and give specific explanations for what
you included on your tree.
2. Explain which ones were easy and which ones
you struggled with.
For example, “My branches were hard to put into words
because I feel like my relationships and connections with
friends are always changing”.
But first, get organized
write FATPP vertically, then analyze the prompt:
• F- Well-developed paragraph
• A- peers, teacher, parents
• T- Use a tree as a metaphor to describe your personality in
detail
• P- inform, entertain
• P – graphic organizer
