In addition to reading non-fiction, you will be exploring poetry and
fiction about the Everglades. We want you to wonder, “How do we use
our senses to understand the world around us? How can poetry and
non-fiction help us make sense of the world?
You will be asked to think about the following

• What’s so good about the wild?
• Why is human life dependent on
wildness?
• How do we balance human and nonhuman needs?
