greenland halibut, capelin ??
Harvest control rules need :
• The best knowlegde of the status of
the stocs.
• A better system for collecting data
(early warning)
• An international confident catch and
landing control system.
The dangers of singelstock
management.
• An ”overheated” cod spawning stock
brings out lower cod-yeld in the long run
• A to big cod stock is a to high cost in a
more broad utilisation of the species in the
area
• Do we need that big saithe stock, or is it a
danger to other important stocs and stocs
in problems
The next step.
• Need for a less rigid system.
• A playing field for doing adjustments
according to the knowlegde of the
general situation in the ecosystem.
