The major functions are:
Liver- Helps digest fat.
Gallbladder- Released to the small intestine when it is needed.
Pancreas- Produces enzymes that flow into the small intestine.
Mouth- It starts the process.
Esophagus- The tongue pushes the food when it is soft & moist to the
esophagus.
Stomach- After several hours in the stomach the food become a soupy
mixture.
Small Intestine- Most digestion takes place.
Large Intestine-Little digestion takes place.
A system of organ that converts food into nutrients.
It starts at the mouth.
Ends at the large intestine.
It is about 30 feet (9 meters) long from the mouth to the large intestine.
Diseases lactose intolerance, irritable, & bowee syndrome
The digestive system works with others by breaking down the food.
It has many parts to it. The digestive system has a process of
breaking down the food. The process goes mouth then esophagus
then stomach then small intestine and large intestine.
The systems the Digestive system works with are the Circulatory
System and the Endocrine system.
Its starts by:
1.Mouth
2.Esophagus
3.Stomach
4.Small Intestine
5.Large Intestine
Then its done.
Mouth – shreds food, breakdown of starch
into simple sugars.
Esophagus – pushes food into stomach.
Stomach – produces enzymes and acid.
Small Intestine – most digestion takes place
here.
Large intestine – least digestion here, ends
process.
