Practice problem #1
Chemical A is a color agent added to a number of processed foods. Its
molecular size is about 30 nm and it does not bind with plasma proteins.
Chemical A is a weak acid with a pKa of 5.5. Assuming the pH of the
stomach is 1, the pH of the blood is 7, and the pH of the small intestine is
8.5, describe the absorption, distribution, biotransformation and excretion of
Chemical A in a human.

Problem #2
An insecticide contains trace amounts of Chemical B, which is highly lipid
soluble. The toxicity of Chemical B is of concern because human exposure
to it is likely via percutaneous (handlers of the insecticide) and oral (people
consuming lettuce that has been treated with this insecticide) routes.
Describe how Chemical B would be absorbed, distributed, biotransformed,
stored and/or excreted in humans
