Out of the entire state, the region was awarded
$132,668 of the $500,000 total BIF grant. There
are 10 regions, so this region won a lion’s share.

Numerous eTeam and committee
meetings were held this year.
Multiple county broadband informational
meetings were held.
Cellular One has offered both staff and
locations for community training.
A Lakeland training program was
customized and advertised for new
computer users. The eTeam helps to
market training.

Broadband will be an educational topic at the
Farm Bureau meeting in January.
Lakeland College, the Farm Bureau, and eTeam
members are working on training plans for the
Coles County Farm Bureau in February.

Frontier, Joink, Cellular One, and other providers
have service in several new locations and we have
assisted in getting the word out
Shiloh School was able to work with Metro
Communication to greatly improve their Internet
The community of Dieterich worked very hard for a
new Verizon Tower
Frontier is working on developments outside of
Paris, Illinois which we believe will reach Morecraft
Subdivision - A need that came up at an Edgar
County broadband meeting

IRHN is working on a
plan to provide Lawrence
County Hospital double
their speed. A need
brought up in an eteam
meeting.
Flat Rock Telephone will
be upgrading their
services due to new
options for more
bandwidth
Two providers from our
region applied for Gigabit
Grants.

Robinson Palestine Water District,
Joink was able to get access to a
water tower to provide wireless
Internet to a rural location
