Technical Aspects
Bandwidth
•Encoding profiles for live and on-demand range from 300kbps – 1,500kbps and can be optimised for the KPMG
network and webcast requirements
•Our recommended average is 500kbps dependent on network capacity
•Given each viewer represents a unique connection to the stream, large numbers of multiple live viewers can cause
network capacity issues in which case multicasting or stream splitting is recommended. Viocorp has extensive
experience in enabling this across corporate networks.
Ensuring traffic access
•Viostream content is delivered as HTTP (or HTTPS) traffic so there are no specific ports that need to be opened. The
streaming URL should be whitelisted.
Content Delivery Network
•Viostream delivers webcasts on the world’s leading Content Delivery Network (CDN) Akamai, which means that
wherever your audience is, they can receive content from local servers in local ISPs maximising their viewing
experience:
•Cloud delivery: 100,000+ servers in 70+ countries – meaning video is delivered via servers close to the viewer
ensuring the fastest download speeds at all times with minimal buffering
•Load balancing and scalability across all servers offsets peaks in demand and can support hundreds of thousands of

Technical Aspects cont.
LiveBOX
•Viocorp’s proprietary LiveBOX webcast technology uses a fixed line internet connection, all available WiFi connectivity
and multiple simultaneous 3G and 4G data connections to the Viocorp Operations Centre to ensure reliable streaming.
•LiveBOX essentially combines the capability of a satellite broadcast truck with portability and scalability to create the
most advanced mobile broadcast technology.
•LiveBOX makes it easy to stream from any location and for any event, while ensuring maximum signal reliability.
Security
•As a preferred supplier to government and financial institutions, Viocorp performs stringent security reviews which
include design reviews, code reviews and penetration testing. All content is housed in a Tier 1 data centre in Australia.
•All webcast assets can be locked down to the KPMG network through IP restriction, token authorisation or SSO.
