HOW TO USE UNIVIEW PRODUCT-IPC
1.1 How to do with no live video for IPC

2. There is 2 times of prints for this field, the value in red will be increasing normally
3. If the values of the 2 prints stay the same or stay 0 after restart, then ensure that there
is problem with sensor connectors
4. Try to upgrade to the latest version.
5. Open the device, make sure if the FFC cable is loose, try to re-plugin, if still not work,
need replacement.
The corrected diagnosis info:

Open diagnosis info to search【ISP,VIU】 fields;
Found the printed value stayed as 0, ensure that the sensor connectors has problem, if can not be
fixed by upgrade or re-plugin the FFC cable, it need to be replaced.
1.2 How to upgrade IPC by serial port
IPC baud rate: 115200
The way to enter uboot mode
Connect the device by serial port, Run SecureCRT, long press Ctrl+B under connecting
the serial port when power the device
IP setting under uboot
1. Setting device IP
setenv ipaddr xx.xx.xx.xx
2. Setting tftp server IP(pc local IP)
setenv serverip xx.xx.xx.xx
3. Setting device mac address
config ethaddr xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
4.Save values
Saveenv
Make sure the PC can ping device(using ping xx.xx.xx.xx under uboot to test)
Upgrade u-boot
update u-boot
Upgrade uimage.bin & program.bin
update all
Upgrade uimage.bin individually
update uimage
4. Upgrade program.bin individually
update program
5. Delete uboot value
update env
E.g: update -tftp 192.168.1.10 all -f
Reset after upgrade
1.3 How to use HTTPS
Private Certificate
1 .Enter Network-HTTPS, choose “Create” to create certificate
2. Shows below, fill in the previous 3 columns mainly, press ok to create the certificate
2. 3. Turn it on, save it, the HTTPS is enabled
4. Now you can enter https://IP in the browser with encryption
5. Due to the browser can not recognize it at the first time, the browser will notify you that it has problem,
you need to click continue to go to the next
6. You can see the certificate error in the browser, click it to show.
7. Click to check the certificate info, you can install the certificate created by the device for next login properly
8. Install the certificate to trusted root certificate certification authority storage area
Certificate Request
1.Choose “Request” and click “Create” to create certificate
2. Fill in the requested info, same as previous, fill in “Zhejiang” in “Province/State” for test
3. Click ”OK” to create corresponding certificate request, no need to click “Download” to download
4.Signature on CA after download, then import to the device
5.Import the installed certificate to the device, now you can use https
Note: When install the certificate, please reopen the IE, or it may happen that the certificate has an
error notice on browser
1.4 How to use two-way audio
Two way audio between IPC and PC:
1.Make sure that IPC and audio input is connected correctly. In the IPC configuration, the audio input
should be enabled.
2. IPC audio output interface should connect a headphone. Press the two-way talk button like
below snapshot:
3. Test whether the two way audio is working fine
Two way audio between NVR and IPC
1.Enable the audio input in IPC configuration.
2.Connect the IPC to the NVR. Make sure that audio input and audio out interface is connected correctly.
3.Enable two way audio button in NVR(web)
Or Press the “Start Talk” button in NVR GUI.
1.5 IPC multicast guide
Case 1,By Media stream
find “Media Stream”,then fill IP address(for Multicast) and Port as follow steps.
Get URL(1):udp://@239.1.2.3:12345
Case 2,By RTSP Multicast Address
find “Media Stream” -“RTSP Multicast Address” menu,then fill IP address(for Multicast) and Port
as follow steps. “Main” ”Sub” ”Third” mean their related streams.
Get URL(2):udp://@239.1.1.1:12345
Case 3,refer to the local IP directly
Get URL(3):rtsp://193.168.0.10/media/vedio1/multicast
Notice:
Range of Multicast IP Address:224.0.0.0~239.255.255.255
Range of Port:0~65535
View Streams by VLC
Open VLC,enter “Media”—“Open network stream”,fill URL(1) or URL(2) or URL(3)
Notice:If the Authentication page appear, please fill username and password of IPC.
1.6 IPC telnet upgrade
1.Set tftp server in your PC,make sure connection is good between PC and device
(for this test IP of IPC: 192.168.0.13,IP of PC:192.168.0.112)
2. uncompress the upgrade file in the tftp folder: E:MyDrivers
3. telnet to IPC(username:root password:uniview)
4. upgrade:
update -ftp 192.168.0.112 all -f
5. wait until it reboot, then login via web.
1.7 Solutions of IPC fail to be ping
Check whether the power supply and network connection are normal
A. Check whether the device has been powered on successfully, including whether the voltage and rated
current of the adapter meet the needs of the equipment;
B. Check whether the network interface lights of the IPC perform normally.
( green light is on all the time, yellow light is twinkling).If there is no lights,
pls check the network interface lights of the switch or PC which connected to the IPC;
C. Get another device (same model and works normally) to run with the same condition.
If it can run normally, you can eliminate the power supply and network connection problems;
Under the premise of power supply and network connection normal, you can get the IP address
of the IPC as follows:
A. Connect the IPC to PC directly, then search the IPC via EZTools after the IPC has been
powered on for 10 minutes,;
B. Connect the IPC to PC directly , capture via the wireshark, Filter: arp.isgratuitous == 1
Then power off and restart the IPC, check whether there is any arp broadcast message within 10 minutes.
IF the device still cannot be ping after all the above solutions, we will send you a
spare part and contact with the R&D for further analysis.
1.8 Switch scenes settings
In the Scenes forms, customers could set Default Scene and customized scenes.
Default Scene offers 6 modes containing Custom, Indoor, Common, License Plate, Objective,
High Photographic.

custom: customize the scenes by schedule and illumination (with the picture below in details p3)
Indoor: recommended for indoor scenes
Common: recommended for outdoor scenes
License Plate: recommended for plate snapshot on roads
Objective: recommended for static scenes
Highlight Photographic: recommended for scenes with low light
There are three ways to set the auto switching criteria. As the following picture see
You can only set a time schedule to switch the scenes;
You can also only set the illumination range to switch scenes;
3. You can set both the valid time range and illumination range, in this way, the Auto switching occurs
only when the illumination range is covered in the valid time range.
We recommend you that use the NO.1 way to switch scenes ,because this way is more simple than others.
After configuring a schedule successfully, you have to choose【Enable Auto Switching】.

1.9 How to use power output function
Some IPCs support Power output function, how to configure the settings to implement this
function.
1. Power the IPC through POE port.
2. Enable the DV12V output function on IPC’s web interface. As the picture shown:
3. Use this IPC’s external DC12V –IN port to power another IPC.
1.9 How to configure IPC Email
Email server: Email server address (we can use the domain name also).
Port: Different server should use different port. Most of the time, the port is 25 or 465 or 587.
Authentication: Actually it is the email login process. User name should be the email address and
password should be the email password.
SSL:Enable SSL encryption. ( some email should use the SSL, such as gmail and homail)
Sender name: Just show the sender’s name.
Sender address: the email will be sent from this email address.
Receiver address: the email will be sent alarm information to this email address. We can configure 10
receiver address at most.
