Carthage asked for peace, and Rome took control of
Sicily and other islands off the coast.
Indemnity = payment for damages
2nd Punic War

Hannibal (a great Carthaginian soldier)
Wanted
To attack Rome. He marches over the Alps with
thousands of soldiers and elephants. He defeated
the Roman armies, destroying towns.
But
The Romans attacked Carthage
So
Hannibal rushed back to Carthage, but was
defeated. Carthage’s navy was destroyed, and Rome
took control of Spain.
3rd Punic War

Rome invaded Carthage again. The Romans
cut off the food supply, destroyed the soil, and
burned the city.
