provinces of Cyrenaica,
Africa, Numidia, and what
used to be Carthage.
West of Numidia was the
still Independent kingdom
of Mauretania.
Tiberius
When Augustus died Livia
sent out messengers to
Tiberius. He was on a
campaign to Illyria.
Tiberius upon receiving the
message took control of an
army and at once returned
to Rome to take his place as

face the rebellion on the
Danube and Rhine rivers.
They managed to push
back the Germanic tribes.

reign over the Roman
Empire.

Germany. That’s were he spent the
first few years of his life.
As a baby for the purpose of morale
his father dressed him up in army
clothes and also a small version of
soldier boots.
His nickname Caligula means little
boots this stuck with him for the rest of
his life.
Caligula with in the first years of being
Emperor became seriously ill but he
did recover but it affected his mind.
