 Do Now: Explain what type of government you would
prefer to live under.

The Lawgivers of Sparta and Athens

 We are going to create our own city-state.
Representatives of both Athens and Sparta have
come to debate why their way of life is the best
choice.
 Assemblymen: In your representative groups you
are going to prepare an argument as to why this
class should adopt either an Athenian way of life or
a Spartan way.
 Minimum of one “Solid paragraph” from each
member.
 Now that we have discussed the views of our city-states
let us look at our notes and vote:
 Which way of life should be adopted?
 The Spartan way? Or, the Athenian way?
