Grading at SMU
SMU is an elite, private university
creating well-rounded engineering and
technology leaders.
We are aware that for many students
employer reimbursement is contingent upon
a “B or better” grade, but this cannot and
will not effect SMU grading.
Maintaining high standards helps ensure the
long-term value of your SMU degree.
8
Homework
Usually one problems set due every week
– One week later for distance students
– Late homework receives a grade of zero
Assignments available on Blackboard
Plan to spend at least 10 hours per week on
home work, reading assignments, and
studying for exams
9
Submitting Homework
Submit via Blackboard
– Only send one file per assignment
– A zip or tar file containing multiple files is
NOT acceptable
– Format the document so that your name
and the assignment number are on every
page
– Set the margins so it will print properly
