USE A BUSINESS DATABASE
Go to:
Student out

Right click and
copy
Go into YOUR
AO6 folder
Right click and
paste the
database into your
AO6 folder
Then double click on
the file to open it.
Click on Open
Right click on the Miss
Deavall file and select
Rename.
Rename the file with
YOUR firstname and
lastname
You should now see a table
like .
(P) Before you make any changes print off a copy of the table
“Customer List”.
(P) A Smith has asked to be removed from the database. Delete this
record. Circle A Smith on the original print out and annotate
explaining you will delete this record.
(P) Add yourself to the database, using your own name and address.
You must use appropriate capital letters and correct spelling!
(P) A new order has been received; enter the following customer
details into the database. You must use appropriate capital letters
and correct spelling!

(P) T Park has recently married and is now T Forrest. Amend this
record, to reflect this change.
(P) Print off the “Customer List” again, circle and annotate all the
changes made. Double check the alterations; they all must be
perfect, with NO mistakes.
Now double click on
this icon
Click on
Queries….
…then click on
Create query in
Design view
Click on Add
Double click here…
… you should then see this
list highlighted…..
….click and keep the left hand
button pressed down and
drag the highlighted items to
the first cell.
You should now see
all of the field
names along the top
row.
Type in Leeds in the
TOWN FIELD
Finally, click on the
RUN icon
Select ASCENDING in
the SURNAME FIELD
These should all be LEEDS
The surnames should be in
alphabetical order
Click on the SAVE
icon
Save the file as
LEEDS SURNAME
ALPHABETICAL
Click on the
DATABASE WINDOW
icon
Click on Reports….
….then click on
Create report
using wizard
Select the Query:
Leeds lastname
alphabetical….
…. then click on the
double arrow
You should see all
of the fields in the
Selected Fields
box.
Just click on
Next
Just click on
Next
Select Tabular
Select
Landscape
You select the
colour scheme
that you would
like (you do not
have to choose
Corporate)
Your report should look
something like this.
(D) Create a query showing all the customers that live in
Durham and who are within the age range of 16 to 25, in
order of age.
(Evidence should be annotated screenshot of the query in
design and data view)
(D) The owner wants to send some flyers out to the
Durham customers and needs address labels for the
envelopes.
Create a report, in label format, using the query for the
customers living in Durham – use the instruction s
“AO6 address Labels” from the intranet
Check ALL fields, make sure all data fits and text is not
missing / cut off
Print off the report, annotate and explain why you have
created the report
