WHO(1993):Abilities for adaptive and positive
behaviour, It helps to deal effectively with the demands
and challenges of every day life within the family and
community.
Life Skills Approach-refers to the interactive process of
teaching and learning which focuses on acquiring
knowledge, attitudes and skills which support behaviour
that enable us to take greater responsibility for own
lives, by making healthy choices, gaining greater
resistance to negative pressures and minimizing harmful
behaviour

information).
Communication takes place when a sender
transmits a message through media to
receiver who responds.
The process is incomplete if the message is
not received in its original form.
If a student does not understand what the
teacher is teaching, we cannot cal l it effective
communication.
The skill to maintain effective interpersonal
relations is one of the most practically applying
life-skills.
It depends on the respect, sincerity and the
honesty among individuals and based on
understanding.
Positive interpersonal attitude make one’s
thinking wide and one can become a broad
minded person who can adjust well with others
in life every where.
By developing good interpersonal relations we
can create an environment where we can
succeed and can feel good about ourselves.

Creative thinking helps us respond adaptively
and flexibly in our every day life situation-it
is about looking beyond our direct
experience, exploring available alternatives

Critical thinking is important for any of our
crucial life decisions.
It is the process of determining the
authenticity, accuracy or value of something.

helping and caring for others.
It helps us to deal constructive with decisions
about our life.

Integration of life-skill education with
curriculum is essential for teaching in the
classroom.
Efforts should be made to integrate language,
social science, environmental studies, health
& hygiene with specific issues of adolescence
and reproductive child health, AIDS, child
marriage, culture and custom, festivals,
dowry, child rights, drugs and disaster
management in the context of life-skill
education
