Interesting Facts
• Population: 46.77 million people live in Spain (2014). The
majority of the people live in cities and towns.
• Capital: Madrid with 3.2 million inhabitants is not only
Spain's capital city but also the biggest city.
• Language: Spanish
• Religion:Catholic Christianity is by far the largest religion in
Spain.
• Currency:Euros but before 1999 was Pesetes.
• Flag colours: red and yellow.
Some Traditional Spanish Foods
Paella: A
Valencian rice
dish loaded with
seafood and
chicken or rabbit,
saffron and
vegetables.
Tortilla
Española:
A rich, chunky
potato
omelette – a
staple
throughout
Spain.
Churros
A churro is a
fried-dough
pastry—like a
doughnut—
based snack,
served with
chocolate
sauce.
TASK
• Cut out and decorate your churro with Spanish facts and
pictures.
• Make it as colourful as possible!
• The best churro(s) will be displayed in school for your adults
to see.
• We will decide who has made the best churro and the winner
can choose a prize from the cupboard!
