•Xi'an, the
historical city,
was called
Chang'an in
ancient times,
and is now the
capital of
Shaanxi
province. Xi'an
is situated in
the center of
Weihe Plain
with the
towering and
verdant Mt.
Qinling in the
south,
Historical Sites
Xi'an has a long history.
Since the earliest
societies, humanity lived
and multiplied here. It
served as a capital for
thirteen dynasties,
including the Western
Zhou, Qin, Western Han,
Sui and Tang dynasties,
spanning over 1120 years.
It became the oriental
cultural center of the Silk
Road.

The Xi’an City Wall
The Xi'an City Wall
is the best
preserved,
oldest and
largest ancient
city defense
system in China.
It is also one of
the most
important
landmarks of the
Xi'an city.
The Terracotta Warriors
The Terracotta Warriors is
regarded as one of the eight
greatest wonders in the world,and
a sight not to be missed by any
visitor to China.In 1987,it was
listed as one of the world cultural
heritages by UNESCO(联合国教科
文组织).
As one of the most famous scenic
spots in China,it attracts lots of
tourists both at home and from
abroad.
The museum covers an area of
16,300 square meters，and is
divided into three sections：No.1
Pit (坑 ),No.2 Pit,No.3 Pit
• The Eighth Major Miracle of The World
• From the Qin Dynasty(211—206 BC)
• Accompanied with Qin Shi Huang in his
after life, who is the first Emperor of all
China.

Warriors and Horses
Bronze
• Among the three,
the largest one is
pit No.1, covering
14,260 sq.m.. The
pit is divided into
eleven corridors in
which arrayed 38
columns of lifesized clay warriors,
horses and
chariots.
• More than 6,000
clay warriors
Fumen Temple
• Buddhism Door, meaning the initial
approach to become a Buddhist
believer
• Housing the remains finger bone of
Sakyamuni, the founder of
Buddhism.
• Established in Eastern Han
Dynasty (25-220), was royal temple
in Sui Dynasty(518-618)and Tang
Dynasty(618-907).
• More than 2000 pieces of precious
royal treasures was contributed to
worship the finger bone of
Sakyamuni.

Xi'an is also marvelous(极妙的，不可思议的).
Mt.Huashan ,one of the five best-known
mountains in China, is famous for its breathtaking (令人吃惊的)cliffs(悬崖) and its unique
characteristics.
Hua Mountain
Hua Mountain is the highest of
China’s five famous mountains.
It is located 120 kilometers
east of Xi'an, about 3 hours
from the city centre.
There are five peaks that make up
the mountain: Cloud Terrace
Peak (North Peak, 1613m)(北
云台峰 ), Jade Maiden Peak
(Middle Peak, 2042m)(中玉女
峰 ), Sunrise Peak (East Peak,
2100m)(东朝阳峰 ), Lotus
Peak (West Peak, 2038m) (西
莲花峰 )and Landing
Wild Goose Peak (South Peak,
2160m)
(南落雁峰 ). North Peak, the
lowest of the
five peaks, is the starting
point.The highest
peak is 2160 meters.
Big Wild Goose Pagoda
As the symbol of the old-line（历史
悠久的）Xi’an, Big Wild Goose
Pagoda is a well-preserved ancient
building and a holy（神圣的）place
for Buddhists（佛教徒）.The full
name of Big Wild Goose
Pagoda”En Wild Goose Pagoda
Temple“（慈恩寺大雁塔）, located 4
kilometers away from Xi’an area of
the Grace Temple(慈恩寺), built in
652 AD, according to legend Grace
Temple is the first abbot presided
over the Tang Sancang(唐三藏)from
India after the return of the country,
in order to worship and storage
classical sanskrit（梵文经典）and
buddhist relics（佛像舍利） to
design and built personally.
