I am Abraham Lincoln.
I lived a long time ago.
I was the 16th President
of the United States.
I was born in Kentucky on February 12th,1809
in a log cabin.
A log cabin is a house made of tree trunks.
We were very poor. We had no electricity, or hot water.
When I was a boy I worked on my
father’s farm for many hours.
I was very
tired at the end of the day.
My mother
taught me to read and write.
I would study
At night by candlelight.
When I grew up, I became a lawyer.
A lawyer studies the laws, and
can help you
if you are in trouble.
I always tried to tell the truth so
people called me “Honest Abe”.
Many years later, I became the
16th President
Of the United States.
I am famous because I helped
get rid of slavery.
I wanted all people to be free
And happy.
