Aztecs
 The capital city was Tenochtitlan ,it was weird
because it was built in a lake. The name was
Texcoco.
 The Aztecs were polytheistic.
 The Aztec leader was named Montezuma
 The Spanish destroyed Tenochitlan and built
Mexico city.

They lived in South America, Andes
The capital was Cuzco they were polytheistic
They had no written language but one spoken
They practiced animal sacrifice.
They had a civil war[ a battle between two groups
that live in the same country] between brothers

Mayas
They were located in the Yucatan Peninsula.
Not just one major city-was much harder for conquistadors to overthrow.
They were polytheistic.
There religion did not contain as much gold.
They also had slaves to do there bidding who sometimes gained freedom.
Cortez
• The Aztecs thought he was there god
Quetzalcoatl .
• He was the conquistador who conquered
the Aztecs.
• He conquered them with power but mostly
sickness.
• Cortez had 500 men to conquer the
Aztecs.
Pazzaro
• He was the conquistador that conquered
the Incas with 180 men.
• He took the winner of the civil war captive
and said if he joined there religion he
would make his death shorter.
• After that he killed them at night.
• When he first saw the Inca empire he was
scared and backed away.
What they did
• They conquered the Aztecs and Incas.
• They killed a lot of the natives but the main
threat was germs they brought with them.
• They destroyed some rely big empires.
