History
• the town was founded in the second half of 13th
century on a trade road connecting Moravia with
Klodsko
• the town was colonized by German settlers
• Žamberk was originally called Senftenberg
• the Pernštejns built a castle which was completed in
16th century
• during the Thirty-Years-War Žamberk was destroyed
• in 1729 St. Wenceslas church began to be built

Surroundigs
• The surroundings of Žamberk are really very
beautiful. There are fresh air and beautiful forests
everywhere.
• In Žamberk there is a large park which is great for
relaxation.
• There are other smaller parks and a beautiful clean
river here where a lot of people swim.
Educational trails
• Kunvald - an educational trail from the Na Sboru
House in the footsteps of the Czech Brethren Unity
to Modlivý důl, Jordán, to Bratrská lípa (lime tree)
and the site of the first Brethren meetings.
