MLK AND MALCOLM X – GROUP PROJECT
GROUP PROJECT – FEBRUARY 11TH AND 12TH
Group Member Names:
GROUP LEADER:
THE PERSON IN CHARGE OF THE GROUP!
Duties include but are not limited to:
Keeping the group organized
Making sure everyone is on task
Reporting to Mr. Short, as needed
Ensure that ALL group members are doing their job
If they are not, it is the leader’s job to inform Mr. Short
Help out your group, wherever/whenever you are needed!
Remember, you must LEAD by EXAMPLE
PROPAGANDA POSTER ARTIST
Create a propaganda poster
Use ideas, individuals, or
events relating to MLK,
Malcolm X, or the modern
Civil Rights Movement
Each poster must be colorful,
meaningful, and school
appropriate!
RECORDER/REPORTER/TOUR GUIDE
Responsible for summarizing ALL work of the group
Explain the project to “visitors” during the Museum
Walk in the classroom
Write a summary of the project.
Include the good, bad, and ugly events….Think of a
“behind the scenes” point of view
Write at least 3 complete paragraphs (correct
spelling, punctuation, and format are required)

Imagine that you are in the 1950-
1960’s Georgia and post your
thoughts on social media. This could
be from your perspective, or from
the perspective of a person that we
learned about during this unit.
All posts and tweets must include
text and color!

Use your wit to create a
meme for MLK, Malcolm
X, or the modern Civil
Rights Movement
Must be school
appropriate and not
offensive to others.
Can be funny, but also
needs to be informative
(either giving information
or demonstrating
knowledge)
