In groups of 3-5 students, you will create
your own political party. This can be
anything you like as long as it is nothing
that may be considered offensive. For
example: The Gamers Party of America,
dedicated to the advancement of all
video game playing and laws that
protect and defend the rights of all
gamers.
What does your party stand for?
Create a Platform Statement (what your
party stands for or believes in)
Create 4 Planks to support that platform
(Supports your parties beliefs or ideas)
Design a mascot that represents your
party’s beliefs.
Group Contract: Come up with at least
three rules, procedures, or norms you all
agree to follow while working in this
group.
Each norm should have a consequence
if broken.
1. Party Candidate:
1 minute speech over
personal stance/solutions
to 4 planks
Actor in the commercial
2. Campaign Manager:
1 minute speech over the
party’s position and planks
(possible introduction of

does not have a media
strategist)

commercial(Creates

3. Press Secretary
1 minute speech which
includes an opening and
closing speech and takes
questions from the
audience
