Egyptian Day
By Year 4
Year 4 spent an enjoyable day at
the Kent Museum of Life
learning about how the Ancient
Egyptians lived.
They all looked fantastic in
their Egyptian outfits.
Fun was had at the various
workshops.
In Medicine Magic there were
some unusual cures for ailments
including the use of spells!
We had to learn a dance to
perform in front of a Pharaoh!
Some of us had a go at weaving.
This was how the Egyptians
made their linen cloth.
We discovered how the Egyptians
mummified their dead. Some of
their methods were quite
gruesome!
We had to try and build our own
pyramid. Luckily it didn’t take us
as long as it would have taken
the Ancient Egyptians!
The Egyptians ate a wide
variety of food. They ate a lot
of fish which they caught from
the River Nile.
We learnt how to make rope and
tie a reef knot. The Egyptians used
ropes for many things.
