Overview
• Avantis.DSS (Decision Support Systems) is a business intelligence
solution that provides flexible maintenance data analysis
capabilities and high performance business intelligence
visualizations.
• Data is extracted from the Avantis.PRO database and then,
following specific processes, is available in Avantis.DSS for viewing
and analysis.

Dataflow Steps…
Maintenance and procurement data is extracted from the Avantis.PRO
database and moved into the Avantis.DSS Operational Data Warehouse
via the execution of a set of data transformation services (SSIS)
packages, which pull the relevant Avantis.PRO data into a Subject
Matter database and finally into the Analysis database.

Dataflow Steps
The Analysis Services database is a multidimensional database that
aggregates the data based on predefined cubes, which are sets of data
that are defined by the measures and dimensions. The cubes are
populated with data during data extractions, which is then available for
analysis and monitoring.

The final step in the flow is the Avantis.DSS Viewing Service.
Dashboards which are created in Tableau are viewed from web browser
or Intelligence client (windows application), are used to explore data in
Analysis cube. This helps in gaining understanding of the maintenance
data to assist with critical decision making processes.
