Open soft tissue injuriesabrasions, lacerations, avulsions,
and puncture wounds.

Abrasion-injury that occurs when
several layers of skin are torn loose
or totally removed.
Treatment
Clean with peroxide/H2O & soap
Leave open if not oozing,
otherwise cover with nonstick
dressing and antibiotic ointment.

form a tear in the skin
Larger than .25 in deep and .5 in
long needs stitches.
Treatment
Clean with soap
and water only.

Clean with soap and water.
Replace the skin over the wound
so it can heal.
