One Act Play – VHSL Competition on Oct. 30

Spring Musical: Annie (contingent on acquiring
copyright ) March 18, 19, 20.
Tryouts for Annie in Early December
We have grown our drama program from 2 classes to
three; however, ALL students are eligible to join the
Drama Club and tryout for the musical.
WAHS Academic Competition
Accomplishments 2009-10




ACE TEAM: 21-0 Record: Jefferson District Regular Season
Champion, 2nd Place in the District Tournament, 2nd in the Region II
AA Tournament, and 4th place in the State AA Championship
Destination Imagination: A Multi-School Team from WAHS, AHS,
CHS, and MHS placed first in both the region and the state. This
team also placed 20th in the Global Competition.”
The WAHS Team placed 2nd in the region and received a
“Renaissance Award” for their use of puns and pop culture
references in heir performance in the Central Challenge
Competition.
A Multi-School Team from WAHS and MHS placed second in both
the Central Challenge and the instant Challenge portions of the
competition and 3rd overall in the regional competition.

WAHS is one of only 288 high schools in the
Commonwealth to receive this recognition.
WAHS met all state and federal achievement
benchmarks for at least two consecutive years.
The Virginia Index of Performance (VIP Award) also
recognizes achievement in enrollment in collegelevel classes, attainment of advanced diplomas,
career and industry certifications, and the nutrition
and physical activity scorecard.
