Challenge Process
• Must Meet Minimum pre-requisites to
qualify for change in placement (see course
catalog)
• All Challenges due by May 30th
• Both Paper AND Electronic Form required
• Paper form can be printed from Beckman website
• Electronic form will be on our website
• Incomplete forms will not be accepted
• Response to Challenge will be sent via
email

for elective changes are due May 30th
• Add/Drop Form will be available online
• Teacher requests will NOT be granted
• A change in elective will NOT utilize a

This course is designed to provide students with
an introduction to the content that is included in
the AP World History course, including an
exploration of historical themes, global forces,
and specific events from ancient Mesopotamia,
Greece, Rome, India, the Americas and China as
a part of modern history. In additional to learning
fundamental historical thinking and writing skills,
students will be taught and are expected to
engage in class discussions, debates, and
presentations in preparation for future success.
Passing the AP Exam may offer students the
potential for college credit
The focus of this course is to introduce students
to the systematic study of patterns and
processes that have shaped human
understanding, use, and alteration of Earth’s
surface. Students will learn to employ spatial
concepts and landscape analysis to examine
human socioeconomic organization and its
environmental consequences. Students will also
learn about the methods and tools geographers
use in their research and applications.
