WHY IS DARWIN’S THEORY
MORE CONVINCING?
Analysis Question 1
1A)
WHEN THE ELEPHANT HAD BABIES, THE BABIES
HAD SLIGHTLY LONGER TRUNKS BECAUSE OF THE
STRETCHING.
WHEN THEY GREW UP THEIR TRUNKS STRETCHED
TO EVEN HIGHER LEAVES.
THEIR CHILDREN HAD EVEN LONGER TRUNKS.
THIS HAPPENED FOR MANY GENERATIONS, UNTIL
THE ELEPHANT TRUNKS BECAME AS LONG AS
THEY ARE TODAY.
Analysis Question #2
AN ELEPHANT WITH A SHORT TRUNK COULD NOT
REACH THE HIGHER LEAVES ON A TREE. SO ITS
TRUNK STRETCHED AS IT TRIED TO REACH MORE
LEAVES IN ORDER TO SURVIVE.
