_22_EGR1301_Fall2013_TPWD_Solar_Evaluation_Project_3_Intro_Assignment.pptx
This is the first step in Project #3, TPWD Solar Evaluation. Begin by characterizing the daily
energy production of the A.E. Wood PV installation and solar data in San Marcos as follows:
`
Using _20_A_E_WoodFish_PV_Performance_Data_130925.xlsx, and following Example
Problem 10.2, page 237.
For Friday, Sept. 27, 2013
• Determine the sample mean and sample standard deviation for daily kWh produced.
Hourly kWh are in Column H. For now, do not use Excel’s built-in average and standard
deviation functions. Instead, use cell calculations and sums as illustrated in class. This is
part of learning how to use Excel.
• Prepare a histogram similar to Figure 10.3, using daily kWh increments of 10 kWh. Again,
to better learn Excel, use cell calculations and sums, instead of the built-in histogram
function.
For Monday, Sept. 30, 2013
• Repeat the above for daily Global Horizontal (GH), Diffuse Horizontal (DH), and Direct
Normal (DN). (corresponding columns AD, AE, AF)
Show results, observations, and other pertinent comments in your notebook.
