• Igneous rocks are formed by volcanoes
.when the volcano erupts the lava dries on
the land and becomes what we call
Igneous rock .
• Sedimentary rock is formed by wind and
water. The layers of earth build up during a
period of time . The pressure of the water
causing the layers of earth to turn to what
we call Sedimentary rock .
• A Metamorphic rock was once a Sedimentary
rock or a Igneous Rock .The pressure of the
water and heat causes the rock to turn into what
we call Metamorphic rock.
• Freeze thaw weathering
• Onion skin weathering
• Chemical weathering
• Physical weathering
Freeze thaw weathering is caused by water getting into
the cracks of the rocks .when it is around freezing point
the water will turn to ice .the ice will expand and start to
crack the rock . When this repeatedly happens the rock
will eventually break into bits .
• Onion skin weathering is caused by repeatedly
heated and cooled . During the day the rock
expands because of the heat . At night the rock
gets smaller because it is cold. This cause the
rock to start to peel like skin .
Chemical weathering is cause by
acid rain . The acid rain reacts with
the object and my make it change
shape .
Physical weathering is caused when a plant
starts to grow in side the rock . The roots grow
down though the cracks in the rock . Getting
bigger therefore causing the rock to break in to
bits .
Message from Mr M
• Some good work and presentation Lynsey.
• Nice use of the sound effects – just don’t
use too many!
• Erosion does not have a T in the middle
• I liked the nice colours and balance
between text and pictures
• A really good piece of work A1
