Organized into rows called periods

Also arranged other ways (metals, nonmetals, metalloids, etc)

How to determine the number of neutrons
Two Simple Steps:
Atomic Number
1) Round the atomic mass to the
nearest whole number
Example: 6.941 rounds to 7
2) Subtract the atomic number
from this rounded number
Atomic Mass
Reminder: Atomic number is 3
Example: 7 - 3 = 4 neutrons
