Least Developed Countries Fund
• Agreed at COP7 (Marrakech Accords)
• Only LDCs are eligible
• Based on voluntary contributions from rich
countries
• Managed by GEF
• Initial funding to all LDCs to carry out National
Adaptation Plans for Action (NAPAs)
• Total funds pledged: approx 100 Million Dollars
• Procedures for applying for project funding agreed
• Countries can apply for funding priority projects
(identified in their completed NAPAs)
Special Climate Change Fund
• Agreed at COP7 ( Marrakech Accords)
• All eligible countries eligible
• Based on voluntary contributions from rich
countries
• Funds pledged: Approx 400 Million Dollars
