Conduct information campaigns and
awareness raising of CDM for relevant
target groups, namely:
Public Sector

Activity1: Identify relevant target groups
– 100% completed.
Activity 2: Collect and prepare CDM
information material relevant to Cambodia
– 100% completed.
Activity 3: Organize round table
discussion and face to face meeting – 70%
completed.
Activity 4: Organize National workshops
(2003 - 100% complete)

Activity 5: Help Cambodian
representatives participate in regional
international forum on CDM issue- ongoing
Activity 6: Establish CDM section in the
Cambodia climate Change Website – 60%

Activity 7: Write specific article press
release for national newspapers /
magazines and prepare and broadcast
CDM material – ongoing; to date some
newspaper and radio coverage.

Activity 8: Prepare an illustrative set of example
CDM project that clearly demonstrate the national
value and benefits associated with CDM project –
conduct with CD4CDM Philippine team next week.
Activity 9: Prepare an executive summary of the
CDM project cycle -100% completed
Activity 10: Disseminate the developed CDM
materials to policy makers via network executing
briefings etc. – 70% completed
Activity 11: Undertake technical review of 2
baseline methodologies approved by CDM EB – 80%
completed
Factors of Success
CD4CDM project staff made up of interministerial representatives with experience
in other climate change projects.
Government agency allows easier access
to Ministerial representatives to discuss
CDM.
Decision to conduct face to face meetings
with all identified stakeholders (rather
than relying on workshops) allows better
interaction and discussion.
Barriers
Most of relevant stakeholder have no or
limited knowledge on CDM
Face to face meeting more time consuming
Limited capacity (but improving) of project
staff
Limited number of private sector
companies working on CDM eligible
activities – most companies operate across
many industries; therefore limited interest
in CDM.
Activity Plan for Next Six months
Continue face to face meeting and
roundtable discussion and dissemination
of CDM materials
Continue write and prepare specific article
press release for newspapers/mags/radio
Finalise the CDM website and updating
Prepare illustrative set of CDM project
examples
next week in collaboration with Philippine CD4CDM team
Organize workshops, particularly at
provincial level
Task 4 - Summary
Facilitate capacity development for public
and private sectors to identify, formulate,
and secure financing for CDM project on
as needs basis.
