Participation – 15%
Loose-leaf paper
Classwork/HW – 20%
Pen/Pencil
Labs – 30%

Tests and Quizzes – 35%
Participation
Start with 100%
Each class is worth 2 points
Points will be deducted at my discretion and cannot be
earned back.
If you’re absent you must come see me during one of my free
mods when you return so I can catch you up. If you do not
see me you will lose your two points.
Homework
Due the next school day unless I say differently.
Homework is either checked at your desk or collected.
Grading is based on effort and correctness.
Late homework must be submitted to me in person during
one of my free mods.
If you’re absent on a day that a homework assignment is due
you must turn it in the next day you are in school.
Classwork
Surprisingly we will do work during class.
I’ll usually let you know if I’m going to grade it.
When I think everyone deserves a free 100
When more than half the class is absent
When one group isn’t doing anything productive
Graded classwork will have different weights.
Labs
Signed lab agreement
You must complete 1,200 lab minutes in order to take the
Regents exam this June.
I will not accept any labs after June 12th.
Tests
Tests will be at the end of each major topic.
We will have a midterm exam.
You have to take the Regents exam because it counts as your
final exam.
Each test will have a different weight in the grade book based
on how important I think the topic is.

it tomorrow.
I’ll hand out your textbook soon!
What is physics?
It is the reason you had to take math classes.
It is the end of an action movie.
It is awesome.
It is easy!
It is mandatory.
