 Early colonies were being established

Baroque Style
 Baroque means “ornamented” or
highly decorated.
 The music was very complicated
 Harpsichord important
 Baroque styles contains the following:
 Instruments and Voices freely mixed
 Ornamentation
 Dance Rhythms

Violin – Similar to today’s violin but the bow
was curved outward

(pedals play very low notes)
