Agent’s

A agent within the music industry are also known as ‘booking
agents, talent agents or like I’ve said firstly a agent. Most
good agents have many well connected well known and well
structured connections. Having these good connections can
work wonders for a new upcoming band or single artist, by
increasing dramatically. Another thing they offer to their
clients is working closely with promoters and popular
venues whilst working closely with record labels so their
client’s has a better shot a ‘stardom.’

They manage all the clients personal needs, arranging tour
dates, most money matters, venues props ect.

Music Producer

A producer has many different roles some include gathering
ideas for upcoming projects for their client’s, selecting songs
that’s been given by the client or by newer other upcoming
artists who want to get their name known, being a life coach,
and supervising the artist in the studio controlling and
making sure each session is up to standards so the artist can
shine. A music producer is basically the artists supervisor for
all that they do keeping them in line so it doesn’t reflect
badly on them or the artist. They act a lot like a film director.

Products and areas its linked to
Being in the 21st centuray music is a important source in helping
promotional adverts, to help promote a artist, linking in with TV
shows in aid of making it more intriguing to the viewers, you
tend to hear a lot of music in films to help show the mood more
in the film, so for example if it’s a sad film it’ll play more of a
sadder tone, if it’s a more exciting comedy type genre it’ll play a
more up beat song. All these links are customer based, which
also comes under marketing advertisement.

Artist
An artist is the life and soul in the music industry, its how all
the different types of job roles get paid!
An definition of a ‘musician’ “One who composes, conducts, or
performs music, especially instrumental music” “ a person
who performs music, esp. professionally.” (www.thefreedictionary)
With out their talents, or in some cases (no talent but the talent
of editing and voice over) there would be no ‘music industry’
all the connected roles aims are to help promote, produce, train
and capture and money making gold mime.


Marketing is important when trying to help promote a new
upcoming artist, ways of doing this correctly would be
promoters targeting the public with news and updates about
the artist, with permission playing a clip of their tracks to the
public. Preparing posters and aid campaign’s to promote
their faces and what sort of genre of music they are offering.

Marketing the right sort of look is important for the client and
working alongside the client and producer/agent so the right
look is in order and captured correctly to help their image.

Any badly done marketing or promotional ads could effect
the artists popularity and have a backlash of negative
feedback.
