• Working in small groups, you
must now warm-up using the
correct methods.

Health Related Fitness
Physical fitness is made up of health
related and skill related components.
There are five main health related
fitness components.
• Cardiovascular Fitness/Endurance- this
is how well the circulatory system can
supply oxygen to the muscles and how
efficiently the muscles can use oxygen to
sustain energetic activity.
• Strength- this is the amount of force a
muscle can exert.
• Muscular Endurance- this is the ability
of muscles to work for long periods
without getting tired.
• Flexibility- this is the range of
movement in a joint (or groups of joints).
• Body Composition- this is the proportion
of fat, muscle, bone and fluids within the
body.
Task 2
You will now undertake a circuit
training session.
At each station you will perform
the given exercise for 1 min.
When performing each exercise
try to note what component of
HRF you are exercising and the
muscles you are using.
