What is violence?
• Violence- any physical force used to harm
people or damage property
• Observing or experiencing violence can
make a person more violent towards others.
Factors that lead to Conflicts
• Feeling Threatened: Stress from being
threatened can lead to violence
• Unmanaged Anger: Not being able to
control anger or expressing anger in an
appropriate manner
• Lack of Respect: Being disrespectful to
others, picking on someone, negative
opinions
Bullying
• Scaring or controlling another person by
using threats or physical force

Tell a trusted adult, ask for help
Be ASSERTIVE, not AGGRESSIVE
Avoid bullies, don’t give them the time of day
Respect yourself- stand up for what you believe

What is Abuse?
• Abuse is physical, mental, or emotional
harm to someone.
• The most common forms of abuse come
from people one should be able to trust, like
family members, friends, or
boyfriends/girlfriends.
