Alcohol
• Is a depressant drug that affects the
central nervous system.
• When consumed, it goes to the stomach
and small intestine where it directly
enters the blood stream without being
digested.
• Alcohol in the bloodstream circulates to
the brain in about 30 seconds.

Alcohol Use
• Increased risk of cardiovascular diseases
(Coronary Heart Disease, Stroke,
Hypertension)
• Increased risk of cancer:
(liver, stomach, colon, pancreas, breast,
mouth, throat)
• Impaired immune system
• Malnutrition
• Reproductive problems
